Patient Floor Lifts

Patient floor lifts are mechanical frames used to hoist the patient that needs to be moved but is unable to walk.   It is a safe, efficient way to transfer the person in your care from one room or area to another.

There are typically two different methods: patient lifts and stand assist lifts.  A standard patient lift will lift someone up and assist in moving them to a new location.  Alternatively, a stand assist lift helps someone rise up to a standing position where they can then be moved and lowered/seated in a new location.  A slightly higher ability level is required for this type of lift as the individual needs to be able to tolerate standing as well as hold on with their hands.  Both types come in manual and power options.

Manual patient lifts are designed to be operated by hand and typically feature hydraulic assists, which help to ease the burden on the caregiver. This style of lift is ideal for transferring patients from one area to another, but it’s also a great option for those who are concerned about cost (manual lifts are typically cheaper than power patient lifts).

Power patient lifts plug into standard outlets and typically feature a rechargeable battery. They are almost always controlled via a handheld remote.  These devices reduce the burden on the caregiver substantially. Power patient lifts are an efficient way to support you or your loved one.
